WHAT IS CBD?
A molecule, not a plant
CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a molecule naturally present in hemp. It is not THC, it has no intoxicating effect and does not produce the "high" associated with cannabis.
Through purification processes, it is possible to separate Cannabidiol from other plant components to obtain isolated CBD of very high purity.
This is the form that AgriLab has chosen to study and use: a single, defined and controllable molecule, independent of the complexity of the plant.

CBD and THC: two profoundly different molecules
CBD and THC belong to the same chemical family, but their biological behavior is very different.
THC directly activates CB1 receptors and is responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis.
CBD, on the other hand, has a different profile: it does not produce psychotropic effects and interacts with numerous biological systems through much more complex mechanisms.
This is why simply talking about "cannabis" when referring to CBD risks confusing two molecules with completely different characteristics and purposes.

How CBD acts in the body
CBD does not work on a single receptor and does not simply "turn on" the endocannabinoid system.
It is a pleiotropic and multi-target molecule: it can interact simultaneously with different regulatory systems of the body.
Among the most studied mechanisms are the involvement of:
Endocannabinoid system · TRPV1 · 5-HT1A · Adenosine · PPAR · GPR55 · GABA/Glutamate
This network of interactions helps explain why scientific research on CBD spans very different areas, from stress regulation to pain perception, from sleep to inflammatory and neurobiological processes.
The important point is precisely this:
CBD does not act as a "one target – one effect" molecule, but as a modulator of multiple biological pathways simultaneously.
The endocannabinoid system: a network of balance
Our body already has its own endocannabinoid system, made up of endogenous molecules, receptors, and enzymes.
It is involved in the regulation of numerous physiological processes, including:
sleep · stress response · pain perception · appetite · immunity · mood · metabolism · homeostasis
CBD interacts with this system predominantly indirectly, also influencing numerous other molecular targets.
It is precisely this ability to interact with multiple systems simultaneously that makes Cannabidiol particularly interesting for research.
Why AgriLab chose isolated CBD
Not all products labeled "CBD" have the same composition.
Full spectrum and broad spectrum contain different combinations of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant components.
Isolated CBD, on the other hand, allows for working with a much more defined composition.
AgriLab uses isolated CBD with purity up to 99.8% and THC <1 ppm.
For us this means:
greater control · greater transparency · fewer variables · more consistent formulations
We didn't choose isolated CBD because it's a trend. We chose it because it represents the most consistent approach for us: knowing exactly the molecule we are working with.
What research tells us today
CBD is currently the subject of extensive scientific literature and is being studied in relation to numerous biological mechanisms.
There are also approved pharmacological applications of purified Cannabidiol in specific medical indications, confirming that CBD and recreational cannabis are profoundly different concepts.
This does not mean that CBD is a universal solution or that it produces the same results in every person.
Product quality, quantity used, continuity and individual response matter.
And that is precisely why at AgriLab we prefer to talk about knowledge, method, and conscious use, not miraculous promises.

Our choice
Isolated CBD. A molecule to know, not a plant to confuse.
Since 2009, AgriLab has been deepening its understanding of Cannabidiol and the biological systems it interacts with, transforming research into products and pathways dedicated to well-being.
